TU marked its golden day of remembrance in 2009 organizing programmes.
In the 52nd year of its institution, the university family remains committed and dedicated to creating it a supply and centre of quality education to line up a culture of learning within the country and to market the notion of national and international peace and harmony.
Since its origination, the state-owned university, has enlarged its programmes. There ar 5 technical institutes and 4 general colleges. The university offers a hundred and fifteen courses for the technical proficiency certificate level. TU offers 1079 courses at Bachelors level and a thousand courses at Master’s level. It offers hydrogen ion concentration.D. degrees within the technical institutes and colleges.
TU ran its programmes solely through its constituent campuses before 1980. With the increasing variety of scholars wanting educational activity, it had been uphill to accommodate all the scholars within the constituent campuses. this case light-emitting diode to the institution of faculties within the personal sector as a result of the constituent campuses alone couldn't meet the demand. From 1979–80, TU started providing affiliation to personal schools to conduct programmes. Eight hundred twenty six personal schools unfold everywhere the country have up to now received TU affiliations.
In the 2014-2015 term four,05,341 students were listed in TU educational programmes. 1,48,141 (36.55%) students study in its sixty constituent campuses together with thirty eight central departments, while 2,57,200 (63.45%) students study in 1053 related schools.citation needed
